SAVE THE DATE!

Wedding date! That is one hell of a task.
You know you want to consider a lot of things before u choose a date for your wedding. First of all how is the weather going to be. Winters are a good time to have a wedding but u don't want it to be too cold, because then it gets a little difficult to wear all the deep backs and spaghetti straps! And also you don't want your guests cursing you while u sit in front of the puja fire all cozy and they have to struggle with the cold, trying to wrap themselves up in a shawl.
And forget about summers! Delhi summers are hot and torturous.
I have attended one of these... and forget about dressing up. You'd wish that you could attend the functions in a pair of shorts and a tee. And totally forget about going crazy with the makeup, coz you will definitely look crazy after it drips down with the sweat.

Another big thing that you need to keep in mind is where you want to go for your honeymoon. If you are considering a continent like Europe, trust me you don't want to go there in winters. Not for your honeymoon.

Considering I stay in India and my family is a firm believer of getting auspicious dates out (which are limited to certain parts of the year) from the pandit, we didn't really have much choice left. So Feb it is!

My fiance has a lot of relatives staying abroad, hence we have to announce our wedding date now so that they can make plans accordingly. So we got down to making a save the date card.

A dear friend of ours, Jamie Mullick who is also a brilliant photographer had offered to give us a few photo shoots as an engagement gift. And we took full advantage of the photos he took for us.
Save the date cards are quiet a rage these days. And you can play with it in so many ways. Though photo cards are really in these days. Here is an ensemble of some inspirations out there for Photo Save the Dates. These lovely ideas are sure to inspire you steal them for your own e-session or at least they will put a smile on your face!

You could also create a save the date into a movie poster. Here are some great examples.

We finally went along with the entire scrabble blocks thing. The letters kept on falling here and there since FEBRUARY is a long word. But the outcome was amazing! We will start sending out the cards today. Here's a peek-a-boo for you!

All you have to do is pick a theme you like and work around it. There are also a lot of amazing photographers with great concepts who can help you out.

10 months to go!

Let me introduce myself. I am a 24 year old bride to be, and according to my brother i am going to be a major case of BRIDEZILLA!

MY STORY:
Last september, my boyfriend asked me out on a date (oh yes i love the idea of dates, even after 2 and half years of dating). He asked me to put on my best dress, which I was happy about because I hate being under dressed to a nice restaurant. I got a feeling that he's up to something, and it wasn't as simple as taking me out. Curious as I am and also with my amazing intuition, figured out what he was up to (or at least that's what I thought). And just like that he drove me around a bit with my eyes closed and got me back to his place, with the rooftop all set up!
It was a beautiful sight. Strings of light suspended from the shed and a table for two sitting in between. And guess what a - menu specially designed for me. It had all of my favorite dishes that he had prepared himself!
For dessert- my favorite brownie with ice cream. Life could not get any better!

Served to me was a proposal. A gorgeous proposal!
The man knows me. What better way than to propose with food.

A lot of emotions later, came out a YES.

And now 7 months later, I finally decide to start shopping for my wedding! And i look forward  to awesome and not-so-awesome time I will have making preparations for that day!
